Fear the Walking Dead has made its eagerly awaited return to AMC with the start of the second half of season four.

We already knew that there would be an almighty storm coming to test the survivors even further, and the outlook for them was as bleak as ever in Monday’s premiere.

It opened on Luciana, Strand and Alicia living in an abandoned mansion, which would seem like a luxury break were it not for the zombie threat lurking just outside of the door.

Meanwhile, Morgan has made the huge decision that he wants to return to Alexandria, something that could really affect Alicia who is still struggling with losing her mum and brother.

Alicia seems to have found a way of coping by emulating her mum’s talent for trying to save others from the walkers, but was crushed to have lost a man she had been fighting for right at the last minute.

With Morgan as her ally in picking up the family baton for good deeds, how will she cope if he leaves the group?

Charlie looks set for further trouble, too, as we saw her fleeing the mansion despite Luciana trying to stop her.

If you’re a Fear the Walking Dead superfan and have ever wondered just how they make their flesh-eating zombie scenes look so terrifyingly realistic, read on.

The crew offered a sneak peek at the making of Monday’s episode, which shows how they make walkers fly through the air and skid along roads with no real-life injuries – take a look at the clip below.

It looks as though we’ve been set up for yet another nail-biting run of episodes at AMC – we can’t wait to find out what’s in store for the survivors next.
