Fear the Walking Dead: Where is Madison Clark?

Is Kim Dickens going to make it out of season 4 alive? We tackle the burning questions ahead of the mid-season finale.

Fear the Walking Dead’s fourth season has been teasing viewers about the fate of Madison since the very first episode.

In the present timeline, Alicia, Strand, Nick and Luciana have made no reference to her whereabouts or fate. However, the bloodthirst of her children and Strand has prompted many to speculate that the show’s lead character died during the collapse of the Diamond baseball stadium.

What happened at the Diamond is expected to be revealed in the mid-season finale – ‘No One’s Gone’ - and we have five burning questions about the episode.

1. Is Madison alive?

We’ve lost Nick, John’s wounded, but most mysteriously of all, we’ve lost Madison. The leader of the survivors hasn’t been spotted since the fall of the Diamond.

Did she die saving Nick and Alicia from the herd of walkers outside the stadium? Or did Strand, Alicia and Nick wrongly believe Madison had been killed?

They also believed Naomi was dead, so could they have got it wrong. Fingers crossed, all will be revealed in the finale.

2. Will John Dorie make it?

Garret Dillahunt in Fear the Walking Dead

Clips from next week’s episode show Naomi/Laura and Morgan teaming up to brave a hoard of charred infected to get medical supplies for John.

John is currently stuck fighting his gunshot would in the SWAT van with only Al and Charlie by his side.

Viewers will be heartbroken if Garret Dillahunt doesn’t survive to the second half of season 4, but Fear the Walking Dead isn’t a universe filled with happy endings.

3. What is Al’s story?

Maggie Grace as Al in Fear the Walking Dead

Out of all the new arrivals in season 4, Al’s story remains the most mysterious. Equipped and capable of surviving on her own in the apocalypse, she’s a kick-ass ally to have around. But what is the significance of those tapes she keeps in her van?

And how long can she remain a neutral bystander and not reveal her own personal story and losses in the apocalypse?

4. What next for Alicia, Strand and Luciana?

Alycia Debnam-Carey in Fear the Walking Dead

The trio have just taken out Mel and the Vultures in brutal fashion, but will that be enough to calm the vengeful trio?

Will they want revenge on Charlie for killing Nick? Luciana couldn’t pull the trigger last week, but maybe Alicia or Strand could do the deed. And presumably they’ll want answers from Naomi about her survival and alliance with the Vultures.

5. What is the significance of the title ‘No One’s Gone’?

Jenna Elfman in Fear the Walking Dead

The line, “No one’s gone until they’re gone”, was used by Madison during her stand-off with Kevin Zegers Vulture Mel last week and it’s the title of the mid-season finale.

It’s the sort of spiritual and philosophical statement normally used by Morgan, but who will it be referring to this week. Madison? John? Naomi? Or is it a thematic statement about the whole fourth season and the ability of survivors to return from the darkest places.
