At just 21, Chloe Hewitt, who joined the show last year, is one of Strictly’s youngest-ever professionals. In fact, she was inspired to take up dancing at the age of eight after watching early series of the show.
Here’s what you need to know about her:
Who is Chloe Hewitt?
Chester-born Chloe started dancing at the age of seven after spotting an advert for dance classes while attending a birthday party at a local dance school. That dance school was run by none other than fellow new Strictly pro AJ’s parents.
AJ and Chloe would soon be dance partners. As well as competing at the highest level – winning the National Youth Latin Championships for three years in a row as well as the British Open Youth Latin Championships and the European Youth Latin Championships – Chloe and AJ also appeared on Britain’s Got Talent. In 2013 they made it through to the semi-finals of the ITV talent show.
“People just see the nice hair and make-up, they don’t see the tough work that goes on in the rehearsal room,” Chloe told the Daily Mail.
“You have to be dedicated to it. We’ve had to sacrifice parties, friendships and family occasions. There have been a lot of sacrifices. If people heard what we’ve given up they’d probably say, ‘You have no life.’”
Last year Chloe performed in the group dances on the main Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with Gethin Jones for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
Favourite dance: Cha Cha.
Best-ever finish: Chloe performed in the Strictly show dances, but has not been partnered with a celebrity on the main show.
Worst-ever finish: Chloe performed in the Strictly show dances, but has not been partnered with a celebrity on the main show.
Did you know? Chloe’s dad is a farmer.
