'Kevin from Grimsby’, as he is known on the show, has been a Strictly professional since 2013 – reaching the final in every series since he’s joined.

Here’s what you need to know about Kevin:

Who is Kevin Clifton?

The former Youth World Number One and four-time British Latin Champion comes from a dancing family – his parents are former World Champions and his sister, Joanne, won Strictly last year with Ore Oduba.

34-year-old Kevin started dancing as a child. His first dance partner was his sister Joanne. Later in his career Kevin started to specialise in Latin dances – although he is known for both his Latin and Ballroom prowess on Strictly.

Since joining Strictly as a pro dancer in 2013, Kevin has been a consistently high achiever. As well as reaching the final in every series so far – a Strictly record - Kevin and his partners have scored some of the highest scores.

“Do you know what, I’m really proud of it to be honest – just the fact that I’ve been in the final,” Kevin told the Radio Times.

“Of course I’d love to win one day, but I think being in the final is a massive achievement and for me it really is about the celebrity enjoying themselves and getting something out of it.

“As long as they feel like they’ve had a good time and that they’ve learnt to dance, then I’m happy.”

Before adding to Strictly’s roster of pro dancers, Kevin worked on the show as one of the choreographers in 2012.

Before Strictly, Kevin starred in the West End in Dirty Dancing and Burn the Floor – where he met his wife and fellow Strictly pro Karen. In 2013, Kevin broke the world record for the most ‘drunken sailors’ – a three step dance sequence used in dances such as the Jive and the Charleston - in 30 seconds, carried out during the Strictly Pro Challenge on Strictly’s companion show It Takes Two. He danced 77 drunken sailors, a total of 231 moves, in 30 seconds.

Kevin and his wife and dance partner Karen have recently toured the country with their dance show – which told the story of their romance through dance.

Best-ever finish: Kevin is the only professional to reach four consecutive grand finals – and has come second in each.

Worst-ever finish: Since Kevin has reached the final in every show since joining, second is his worst finish as well as his best.

Former celebrity partners: Susanna Reid, Frankie Bridge, Kellie Bright, Louise Redknapp
