Who is Nadiya Bychkova, Strictly Come Dancing pro?

Nadiya Bychkova is back for a third Strictly series. Here’s what you need to know about her.

Returning to dance again in Strictly this year is Nadiya Bychkova, who first graced our screens in 2017.

She's not had the best luck with her partners after a decent debut year, but Nadiya is now a firm fixture in the ballroom and a familiar face with viewers.

Who is Nadia Bychkova?

Nadiya Bychkova is a two-time World Champion and European Champion in Ballroom and Latin ‘10’ Dance. Hailing from Ukraine, she is a multiple Slovenian Ballroom and Latin Champion and has taken part in the Bosnian version of Strictly.

“I'm extremely happy to be joining the Strictly Come Dancing family this year. One of my biggest dreams is to be part of this great show and I can't wait to get started!" she said when she joined the show.

In addition to dancing, Nadiya has also modelled – appearing on the covers of Slovenia’s editions of Playboy and FHM as well as featuring in many campaigns for Slovenian fashion brand Lisca.

“Modelling is very closely connected with dance,” she explained to The Sun. “Both require the art of performance and a suitable appearance.”

Nadiya has had a rocky start to the 2019 competition, ending up in the first two dance offs with partner David James.

Best-ever finish: In her first year, Nadiya placed sixth with Davood Ghadami.

Worst-ever finish: Nadiya's only other finish so far was with Lee Ryan in 14th, but she found herself in the first two dance offs of 2019 with David James.
