Everything you need to know about Strictly star Gemma Atkinson

Model, stage and screen actress, radio presenter, and now dancer - Gemma Atkinson is a woman with many strings to her professional bow.

If asked to write down her job title, Gemma Atkinson would be spoilt for choice.

Glamour model, tv soap and West End stage actress, radio presenter, reality show regular and now star of Strictly Come Dancing 2017 - the 32-year-old from Bury is a woman of many talents.

Having first made her name in Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, Gemma went on to become one of the country's most in-demand glamour models of the 1990s lad mag era, before quitting modelling to concentrate on her media career.

She is now a familiar face through appearances in Casualty, Emmerdale, West End musical Calendar Girls, and reality shows including I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Celebrity MasterChef and Adrenaline Junkie with Jack Osbourne.

Gemma currently co-presents the breakfast show on Manchester radio station Key 103 as well as dancing with Aljaz Skorjanec on the current series of Strictly.

Despite having in the past been linked with Cristiano Ronaldo amongst others, she is currently single and says she is "not ready for a relationship", living with her two dogs which she says are like children to her.

Although she may be known for her glamorous appearance, she has frequently described herself as a tomboy, and is well known for her punishing gym regime.

Before Strictly 2017 began, she said she was hoping to be paired with someone "who will make me feel petite and dainty. Someone who can lift me and make me look elegant, as opposed to looking like a baby elephant".
