Who is Dr Ranj Singh? Meet the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 contestant and TV doctor

Strictly Come Dancing is back! The BBC has revealed that Dr Ranj Singh will be stepping out on the dancefloor this year – get to know him a little better.

Revealed as a Strictly contestant: We found out that Dr Ranj would be joining Strictly during an episode of This Morning on Thursday, August 16.

Age: 39

Occupation: Doctor and TV star

Best known for: Dr Ranj began his career in the NHS and has specialised in working with children and young people.

He stepped into the spotlight when he started to share his expert health advice on TV as the host of children’s series Get Well Soon on CBeebies.

Dr Ranj is also the resident doctor on ITV’s daytime show This Morning, where he presents health segments and takes calls from viewers. He even hosted a full episode of the show as holiday cover in July.

He has also been seen on the series Save Money: Good Health, and has published two children’s books.

 

He said: “I’m so overwhelmed and excited to be part of this wonderful show. It’s an absolute dream come true for me! I’ve been a massive fan for so long, and I can’t quite believe this is happening, but I’m going to give it my best shot.

 

“Anyone that knows me knows that I love a bit of sparkle, so bring on the glitter! I can’t wait!”

Placed: Dr Ranj was voted out of the competition in week seven, as the sixth celebrity to leave the series and in 10th place.
