Strictly Come Dancing is back! The BBC has revealed that Vick Hope will be stepping out on the dancefloor this year – we get to know her a little better.
Revealed as a Strictly contestant: Vick made her own announcement on Capital FM Breakfast, which she co-hosts with Roman Kemp, on Wednesday, August 15.
Occupation: Radio and TV reporter
Best known for: Vick’s current main gig is presenting Capital FM Breakfast with Roman Kemp, where she revealed that she would compete in Strictly.
The Geordie star is also the digital reporter for The Voice UK and The Voice Kids, and hosts for 4Music Trending Live and Box Fresh.
Vick’s other jobs have included news and entertainment reporting for ITN, hosting coverage for BT Sport, MTV and the Disney Channel. She also spent a year working as a reporter in Buenos Aires.
Multilingual Vick is sure to be one of the most intelligent contestants on this year’s Strictly as she has a modern languages degree from Cambridge and speaks French, Spanish and Portuguese.
She said: "I'm so excited about being a contestant on this year’s Strictly. I’ve always been such a massive fan of the show so it’s a huge honour to be part of this series.
"Dances like ballroom and Latin are totally outside my comfort zone but I love dancing. It makes people happy - myself included - so to be able to perform every Saturday is such an incredible opportunity and I genuinely couldn’t be more looking forward to throwing myself into it, working hard and learning from the judges every week."
Strictly partner: TBC at the launch show.
Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in September.
