The Fast and Furious series has become one of the most successful movie franchises of all time, pulling in jaw-dropping box office numbers for its mix of revved up action and high-octane stunts.

However, for all the star power of Vin Diesel, The Rock and co, it’s really the pimped up cars that are the star of the show.

Fast & Furious 8: Bonus Edition is available to buy in the BT TV Store now and rent from October 16th.

Here are 8 of our personal favourite sets of wheels, which we would love to take a spin in.

1. 1970 Ford Escort

Fast and the Furious

Featuring in a classic sequence in Fast & Furious 6, this Brian O’Conner vehicle was able to face off against a tank driven by Luke Evans and came out on top.

Its mix of classic European colours and 1970s cool made it an automatic entrant on our list.

2. Mitsubishi Eclipse

Fast and the Furious

Arguably the definitive Fast & Furious vehicle. Even if it’s not the sexiest looking car on our list – we just can’t get with that green – it deserves a spot in the top 8.

And when it’s used by Paul Walker to rescue Vin Diesel, we can even forgive the neon underbody lighting.

3. Dodge Charger Daytona

Fast and Furious

Driven by Dom in the street race with Letty and during the tank chase in Spain, this rare bit of kit has a distinguished and unforgettable look.

It’s ‘nose cone’ look makes it stand out from its fellow Dodges and the vehicle has legendary status in NASCAR.

4. Toyota Supra Mark IV

Fast and the Furious

Unforgettable in the films thanks to its lurid orange paintwork, this stunning vehicle appears when it’s given as a present by the LAPD as a repayment for writing off the Eclipse.

It’s this car, which Brian rides in the final dramatic street race across Los Angeles that concludes with the death of Johnny Tran.

5. Nissan Skyline

Fast and the Furious

One of the best-loved vehicles in the franchise, it appears in the opening street race of 2 Fast 2 Furious and most memorable Brian takes the vehicles over a gap in a bridge on the way to victory.

6. Corvette Grand Sport

Fast and the Furious

It first appears in the fifth film and this extremely rare beauty is actually just a replica because only a handful of the originals exist.
It’s lucky that the film car wasn’t real, because it ended in disaster for the vehicle as it sped off a train, before firing off the cliffside into the water.

7. Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Fast and the Furious

The car appears in Tokyo Drift and is driven by Sean Boswell and has its window smashed by Clay after an argument.

Sean and Clay race in a Chev and Dodge Viper, but tragically the Monte Carlo ends up crushed by the police after the car flips and lands on its back.

8. 1970 Dodge Charger

Dodge Charger in Fast and the Furious

Involved in some of the series most thrilling moments, the car was originally written off at the end of the first film. Thankfully it was revived after being repaired by Letty and it reappears in nearly every film since.

Most memorably it was one of the cars involved in the spectacular Hercules plane stunt in the Arizona desert in Fast & Furious 7.
