As the plot enfolds, Ana and Christian begin to fall for one another, forcing their arrangement into turmoil. The sequel to Fifty Shades Darker begins with a separated Christian and Ana. Now a university graduate and with an exciting new editorial job, Ana is keen to move on, but of course keeps on finding herself bumping into the lurking Christian.

Desperate to win her back, he is willing to take any measure necessary, even by buying the company that she now works for. He also takes her to a grand ball, and invites her to move into his luxury apartment. While all of this is going on, Ana soon realizes she is being stalked, and by none other than of one of Christian’s former submissives – Leila - who has suffered a severe mental breakdown. Ana must now decide whether Christian is worth the risk. Can they have a happy ever after or will she end up like poor Leila?

Crazy, Stupid, Love

With an all-star cast Crazy, Stupid, Love sees a recently separated 40-year-old Cal (played by Steve Carroll) get taught how to pick up women by the irresistibly charming Jacob (played by Ryan Gosling). A spanner is thrown into the works however when Jacob is rejected by a woman (Emma Stone) who he then finds himself falling heads over heels in love for – threatening to permanently tarnish his Casanova reputation.

Receiving rave reviews (the film currently has a 95% Rotten Tomatoes approving rating) and leading to thousands of Ryan Gosling memes – thanks to his infamous topless scene – this movie is both sexy and endearingly romantic.

Basic Instinct

Basic Instinct is a true example of an oldie but a goodie. Renowned for Sharon Stone’s illicit leg crossing scene, this erotically charged film sees Sharon play a beautiful crime novelist, Catherine, who ironically becomes a key suspect in the murder of a rock star.

Catherine shamelessly seduces the detective investigating her whereabouts (played by Michael Douglas) whose situation becomes even further complicated when his lover and psychologist (played by Jeanne Tripplehorn) becomes a suspect as well.

Of course a romance is thrown into the plot, and Mike must decide whether to give up his party boy lifestyle for his girlfriend Joanna (played by Olivia Munn).

Vicky Christina Barcelona

A pair of Americans, Vicky (played by Rebecca Hall) and Cristina (played by Scarlett Johansson) arrive in Barcelona for the summer and are quickly seduced by artist Juan (played by Javier Bardem). This turns everything into turmoil for Vicky, who is engaged to the safe but dull American Doug, while Cristina makes things even more complicated by embarking on a ménage a trois relationship with Juan and his ex-wife and fellow artist Maria (played by Penelope Cruz).

Grossing over $95 million at the box office, Vicky Christina Barcelona is one of Woody Allen’s most profitable movies to date, and was widely praised by critics for both its wit and erotic nature.

When a naïve 21-year-old Violet (played by Piper Perabo) heads to NYC with hopes of becomes a singer-songwriter, she takes a day job at the bar Coyote Ugly. Infamous for its raucous atmosphere and for the waitresses dancing on the bar-tops, Violet desperately tries to balance her aspirations with her somewhat raunchy day job.

Eyes Wide Shut

Who can forget this sexy yet disturbing Stanley Kubrick thriller starring a then-married Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. Alice (Nicole) confesses to her doctor husband (Bill) that she is having sexual fantasies about another man, and he quickly becomes obsessed with having an extramarital encounter himself.

Unfaithful

Diane Lane has it pretty lucky in this erotic thriller. As her character Connie, she’s married to the handsome and wealthy Edward (Richard Gere) who after years of marriage is still hopelessly in love with her. And she then finds herself having an affair with the equally attractive yet much younger book dealer Paul (played by Olivier Martinez).

When heartbroken Edward discovers the affair, an unfortunate incident involving a snow globe occurs and Connie is forced to evaluate whether the affair was really worth risking it all.

The Notebook

 

A romantic weeper, The Notebook stars the already featured romantic lead charmer Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as star-crossed lovers. The setting begins in an old people’s home with an elderly man recalling his life story. With flashbacks to 1940s South Carolina, we see Noah (Ryan) seduce wealthy heiress Allie (Rachel).

But while he is away fighting in the army in Europe, Allie agrees to marry wealthy Lon who Allie’s parents believe is a far better match for her. When Noah returns from the War he is desperate to win Allie’s heart back. But is it too late?
