Like its stablemate Bodyguard, Line of Duty is bucking the trend of having whole series available to watch on demand, by sticking to its regular Sunday night slot on BBC One - meaning we have to wait a whole week for the final episode.

Originally airing on BBC One, Bodyguard is available to stream on Netflix now.

What’s it about?

In the show, British actress Keeley Hawes plays Home Secretary Julie Montague, with Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden starring as her Personal Protection Officer, David Budd.

Each episode reveals further complexities between the pair's professional and personal relationships as they find themselves at the heart of a web of intrigue that involves the security services and the police, as well as politicians and civil servants within Westminster itself.

Why watch it?

Like Line of Duty, Bodyguard is from the mind of Bafta-nominated writer, showrunner and director, Jed Mercurio, and stars LoD alum, Keeley Hawes.

It was also the biggest new drama on British TV in more than a decade.

Save Me series 1 is available to buy on Prime Video now.

What’s it about?

On a tireless quest to find his missing daughter, Nelly (Lennie James, above) will go to any length to uncover the truth, discovering more about himself and those around him than he could have ever imagined.

Why watch it?

Save Me was made by World Productions, the same production company responsible for Line of Duty and Bodyguard.

Plus, it stars Lennie James, who LoD fans will recognise for playing DCI Tony Gates, and Stephen Graham, one of the new cast members in LoD series 5.

Mini-series Undercover is available to buy and keep on the BT TV Store now.

What’s it about?

Defence lawyer Maya Cobbina (Sophie Okonedo) tries to finally uncover the truth of an old miscarriage of justice, while her husband, former undercover police officer Nick Johnson (Adrian Lester) goes to any lengths to conceal the truth about his own past.

Why watch it?

This hidden gem of a mini-series straddles the genres of police and legal dramas, and like Line of Duty's DI Fleming, incorporates a UCO (Undercover Officer) storyline.

It’s also directed by Peter Moffat - the acclaimed writer and producer of The Night Of.

What’s it about?

DCI John Luther (Idris Elba) is a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can't always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions.

Why watch it?

Like Line of Duty, Luther poses the question of police officers' moral integrity in this gripping crime drama.

Airing originally on ITV, series 1 of Marcella is available to stream now on Netflix. Series 2 is available to buy now on Prime Video.

What’s it about?

Set in London, Anna Friel plays Marcella Backland, a Metropolitan Police Officer who left the force for the sake of her family only to have her husband subsequently leave her. She returns to her job on the murder squad to investigate a case that seems disturbingly familiar to her.

Why watch it?

If you enjoy the action-packed cliffhangers of Line of Duty, you’ll enjoy crime drama Marcella. It’s also written by Hans Rosenfeldt, acclaimed writer of The Bridge.

Unforgotten

How can I watch it?

Originally airing on ITV, series 1 and 2 of Unforgotten are available to stream now on Netflix. Series 3 is available to buy now from Prime Video.

What’s it about?

This British crime drama follows two London detectives, DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DI Sunny Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar), as they work to solve cases involving disappearances and murders, unravelling secrets left buried for years.

Sound familiar to Line of Duty series 3, anyone?

Why watch it?

Line of Duty fans will recognise a certain Mark Bonnar (DCC Mike Dryden), who plays the role of Colin Osborne in Unforgotten.

The show’s also been given a five-star rating by The Guardian and The Telegraph.

This Is England

This is England

How can I watch it?

This Is England is available to buy or rent from the BT TV Store now.

What’s it about?

Set in the 1980s, This Is England sees a bullied 13-year-old befriend a group of skinheads - but one of them is also a violent racist.

Why watch it?

Technically not a TV show but one we felt we had to include, as This Is England features both Stephen Graham and Vicky McClure, pictured above middle, both of whom are currently starring in Line of Duty.
