Michel Roux Jr is helping teach the nation’s children how to cook and eat healthy in Disney’s First Class Chefs

The host of Disney Channel’s new cookery show talks to BT TV.

Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr is getting the nation’s children cooking healthy food with the help of Disney Channel’s new live-action cookery series First Class Chefs.

BT TV caught up with the superstar chef to get the lowdown on his new entertainment series and discovered his tips for getting the whole family busy in the kitchen.

First Class Chefs

First Class Chefs features 12 teams of children, aged nine to 11 and they will battle it out across four rounds to impress Michel with their culinary talents.

The Evermoor Chronicles actors Georgia Lock and Finney Cassidy co-host the show and Michel’s daughter Emily will join the judging panel for the grand finale, which will feature two teams opening a real-life restaurant.

Award-winning chefs and TV cooks Tom Kitchen, Lisa Allen amd Theo Randall, actor and presenter Joe Swash and singer Bluey Robinson will also appear in the nine-part series.

"I’m hugely passionate about food and giving young people the opportunity to get an insight into an industry that is both challenging and rewarding,” said Michel.

"Disney Channel’s First Class Chefs is the perfect platform to celebrate the next generation of talented youngsters, I believe that the knowledge and skills needed to prepare great food is invaluable and perhaps we may inspire a future Michelin-starred chef!"

Catch First Class Chefs on Disney Channel from Monday, June 22nd at 4.30pm.  First Class Chefs will air every Monday and Tuesday at 4.30pm
