You might recognise Sam Gowland from this year’s Love Island. And if you've missed him since ITV's big summer hit ended, good news - the outspoken and fun-loving northerner is coming back to our screens for more drunken shenanigans on MTV’s Geordie Shore.
Here’s all you need to know about him:
Who is Sam Gowland?
Sam, 21, is an oil rig worker who grew up in Middlesbrough. He was a massive Love Island fan before he joined the show in June 2017 - he says he would have joined sooner but couldn’t because he was in a long-term relationship.
A self-confessed love cheat, he entered Love Island declaring he was in it to win it but unfortunately was booted off the show in week four.
During those four weeks he did have a short-lived romance with Olivia Attwood, who ditched him when bombshell Chris Hughes entered the villa.
However, in a shocking Love Island twist, Sam returned to the villa on day 39 and hooked up with ex-Towie star Georgia Harrison only to be dumped for a second time.
Sam’s life after Love Island
Since Love Island ended, Sam has worked the celebrity events circuit, often popping up at various award shows and high-profile celeb occasions. He did date fellow Love Islander Georgia Harrison but they’ve since split, with Georgia suggesting that he was unfaithful to her.
Is Sam going to be on Geordie Shore?
Yes, Sam Gowland will be joining the Geordie Shore crew for the show's 16th season which began shooting back in September and will be returning to MTV on Tuesday January9, 2018.
in an MTV preview clip Sam claims:
“I’m a rigger so I’m used to laying pipe offshore. Watch what I do now I’m on Geordie Shore!”
Rumours have been swirling for months that Sam’s already hooked up with several of his Geordie Shore cast mates – supposedly Chloe Ferry and Abbie Holborn.
Sam and Chloe have since confirmed they’re dating, and a quick look at both of their Instagram accounts strongly suggests the two are now in a full-blown relationship.
Watch this space, Geordie Shore fans.
Geordie Shore returns to MTV on Tuesday January 9 at 10pm, BT Channel 309.
