Suburra: The Series
This brand new crime thriller series is set in Rome and explores the blurred lines between the mafia, gangs, the government and the state. Each one wants a slice of power in the city, and Suburra explores this from the viewpoint of three very different young men who are forced to form an unlikely alliance. Based on the novel written by Carlo Bonini and Giancarlo De Gataldo, this action-packed show chronicles just 20 days over 10 episodes.
Riverdale: Season 2
Small-town teen drama Riverdale proved to be hugely successful in its first series, and now series 2 is about to return for a whopping 22 episodes. Based on the Archie Comics, series one showed the death of high school jock Jason Blossom and it gradually unravelled who killed him. But the drama is far from over, as there are several shocking twists and romantic tensions that will only be furthered explored in the new series.
There’s been a lot of hype around Mindhunter, Netflix new thriller series that examines what makes a serial killer. Based on the best-selling non-fiction book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elie Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, it explores the horrific crime cases Olshaker was involved in. These include the infamous serial killers Ted Bundy, Ed Gein and cult leader Charles Manson.
Get set for a reboot of the much-loved 80s soap opera, Dynasty. Much like the original, the new series begins with billionaire heiress Fallon Carrington devastated to discover that her father is engaged to his employee Krystle (now renamed Cristal). And she has plenty to be worried about, as Cristal still has feelings for ex-lover Matthew Blaisdel who happens to be very much married. There will be a few changes to the new version, however, including a location switch from Denver to Atlanta.
The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate del Castillo Story
Mexican drug lord Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán made headlines for escaping prison three times and for being the subject of a bizarre interview with Hollywood star Sean Penn for Rolling Stone magazine. This documentary series will follow how this all came together, through the words of Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, who arranged the encounter.
Stranger Things Season 2
Perhaps the mostly highly awaited Netflix return of the year sees Stranger Things back for a second series. A virtual love letter to 80s sci-fi nostalgia, the show will hopefully answer the many puzzling questions that series one left us with. But while Will Byers may have survived the Upside Down, a terrifying other-worldly monster still threatens both him and his friends.

This Spanish dark comedy is set in a warm summer of 2010 when an unlikely group hole up in a safe house waiting for a spiritual sign to tell them what to do next. This included a veteran who wants to relive his glory years, a fashion-conscious couple and an out-of-town guy that hopes joining this group will impress his greatest idol – action movie star Chuck Norris. Wacky and certainly original, Fe de Etarras is a must for any foreign film fan.
The Meyerowitz Stories
Hollywood big shots Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller and Elizabeth Marvel star as siblings trying to overcome the overpowering persona of their father, played by the legendary Dustin Hoffman. Looking back on their lives, they ponder how things could have turned out differently if they’d just had a regular upbringing with a regular dad.
Based on Stephen King’s 2010’s novella of the same name, 1922 is told from the perspective of an unreliable narrator who admits to having murdered his wife with the help of his son. But karma comes back to bite him, quite literally, when he’s terrorised by a pack of ferocious rats and is even visited by his wife’s ghost.
Frank Grillo (Kingdom, Captain America: Civil War) is the star of Wheelman as a getaway driver who is suddenly in the car race of his life as he flees a bank robbery that’s gone very wrong. With his car full of money and his family’s lives at risk, he must figure out who has exposed him before time runs out.
