To the huge excitement of its fans, Strictly Come Dancing has announced a special four-day live event which will take place this summer.

Aficionados of the hit BBC ballroom show will not only be able to enjoy a stage show featuring some of its finest celebrity contestants, but also step onto the dancefloor themselves with some of the show’s professionals.

Here’s everything you need to know about Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular.

When does Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular take place?

The show takes place from 22-25 June 2017 at the ExCel exhibition centre in London’s Docklands. The event will run from 10am to 6pm each day.

Which of the TV show’s stars will take part in Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular?

Hosts Tess Daly, Zoe Ball and Gethin Jones will be joined by judges Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli as well as a selection of celebrity contestants past and present.

Professional dancers taking part include Anton Du Beke, Gorka Marquez, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Oksana Platero, AJ Pritchard and Chloe Hewitt.

What will Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular consist of?

At the heart of the Spectacular is a 90-minute theatre show called Inside the Glitterball, described as “a mesmerising mix of performance, chat and fun with spectacular opening and closing dance routines from Strictlys professional dancers.”

The three judges will also be on stage to talk about their careers before Strictly and to talk about their favourite moments from the series. The show will occur three times each day: at 10.45am (hosted by Zoe Ball), 1.15pm (hosted by Tess Daly) and 3.30pm (hosted by Gethin Jones).

What else can we expect at Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular?

Those looking to brush up on their ballroom skills will have the chance to learn some steps courtesy of Strictly’s talented pro dancers Anton du Beke, Giovanni Pernice and Aljaz Skorjanec, who will be joining forces to give special Dance With the Pros workshops.

Previous contestants Jake Wood, Anita Rani, Judy Murray, Simon Webbe and Nancy Dell’Olio will be among the famous faces appearing in an exhibit called My Strictly Journey, where they will discuss their experiences travelling from novice dancers to ballroom stars. This part of the event will be hosted by du Beke and Alison Hammond.

Both of these experiences will be repeated over the course of each day.

There will also be fashion shows, a make-up and hair tutorial from the Strictly beauty team and a tea dance, where fans can grab another opportunity to take a twirl with one of the Strictly pro dancers.
