Find out more about the stars of Survival of the Fittest.
Laura Whitmore - Host
Hosting the competition is Laura Whitmore, known for presenting on MTV and being a contestant in Strictly Come Dancing.
She said: “We are set under the South African sun in the savannah, so while it’s miserable weather in the UK, you can watch some lovely people in some glorious surroundings.”
Laura makes no secret of the fact that she’ll be rooting for the girls, but said: “I’m excited to see the relationships between people – not just boys and girls romantically but within the sisterhood… and will we see bromances?”
Georgie Clarke - Voted Out
From: South London
Occupation: Research and development tax credit consultant
She says: “I work in the hardcore tech industry so I find that I’m able to hold my own in environments where it’s me and 10 men in the room and I have to keep their attention.”
Occupation: Business development manager
She says: “I have no goal other than to be a multi-millionaire.”
Tia Latham - Voted Out
She says: “My story is very different from most other people’s. When I was born, nature was a bit confused. I had female chromosomes - which are xx - but my body didn't know which direction to go in. So as I got older, I had to go through a process to become the woman I am today.”
Tia was the first contestant to be voted off the show when her team lost and she found herself in the bottom three. The rival team decided to give her the boot as they thought she was the biggest threat to them winning.
Dani Mas Dyer - Withdrew
From: East London
She says: “My dad is Danny Dyer… I’ve been babysat by Keira Knightley. My dad was filming with her ex partner and she was on set. I must have been about seven or eight. She used to take me swimming. She was like a bigger sister to me and I loved her. It’s only when I got home that I realised she was in Bend it like Beckham. Now look at her! I hope she remembers me.”
Poor Dani only lasted one day in the competition before being forced to quit over an injury. She dislocated her shoulder during a head-first dive down a waterslide during the first challenge.
Occupation: Department manager and vlogger
She says: “I’m always happy and I’m always energetic. You never see me upset unless there is no food.”
Occupation: Fitness model
She says: “My sister and I are The West Twins. We work in social media and promote a healthy and positive fitness and mental wellbeing state. We’ve got 284,000 Instagram followers. That’s on our joint account and we’ve got about 55,000 each on our separate accounts. We do fitness shows and always get recognised.”
Lottie James - Replaced Dani Mas Dyer - Voted Out
From: Carmarthen, Wales
Occupation: Waitress and farmer
She says: "A few of the Wales rugby boys follow me on Instagram – including Gareth Davies – but things like that don’t really interest me that much."
Mettisse Campbell - Replaced Tia Latham
Occupation: Model and beautician
She says: "I do music videos so I’m around artists a lot. I’m friends with Lethal Bizzle, Chipmunk, Lotto Boyzz. I’ve been in the music video for No Don (remix) with Chip and Not3s and Lotto Boyzzon it. I’ve been in Lethal Bizzleand Donaeo’s video."
Sam Dewhurst - Replaced Georgie Clarke
Occupation: Student recruitment officer and qualified teacher
She says: "I used to date Dom Lever, for four and a half years before he went into Love Island. Although we’d broken up, we were supposedly on good terms and were still speaking a few months before he went into the villa. At this point, he would have applied for Love Island so the fact he was still speaking to me and asking to meet me, I just couldn’t get my head around it. I knew nothing about him going in, the first I knew was watching the advert with my mum in the lounge."
Sydney Devereaux - Replaced Lottie James
Occupation: Casino croupier
She says: "Jenny was one of my favourites at the beginning but I worry about who she is pairing herself with now. I think it could be detrimental her hanging around with Georgia. The girls need a sisterhood. Mettisse and Mariam, I think we will gel straight away. I think I’ll have fun with Callum and Tristan on a friendship level. The Lundy is harmless but I think he’s trying a bit too hard. Romantically so far, if anything was to happen it would be with Warren."
Ryan Cleary - Voted Out
From: Manchester, lives in London
He says: “Will there be crocodiles in there? I don’t like spiders so let’s hope there are no big South African spiders walking around The Lodge. If there is a spider in my bedroom, I will be running away!”
He says: “If the girls are not feeling me, that would be a nightmare!”
Occupation: Fitness model and personal trainer
He says: “My unique selling point? Physically, my eyes, they are very eye catching.”
James Middleton (not that one)
Occupation: Sports media manager
He says: “My ex-girlfriend is now Queen of the Jungle, Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo. For a long time, people thought I was the Duchess of Cambridge’s brother… I would call up restaurants and say my name and they’d give me the best table and then be disappointed when I turned up.”
From: South Wales
Occupation: Student and lifeguard
He says: “When I was really small, about eight or nine, I used to be really good at football and I was in the South Wales Argus with the headline ‘A star is born, the next David Beckham’.”
He says: “Back when I was 20, I entered a local modelling contest called ‘The Face of Gloucester’ and I won that. Some famous people follow me on Instagram – Miss Egypt. And Vicky Pattison followed me once but I didn’t follow her back, I only follow people I know.”
Joel Bennett - Replaced Ryan Cleary - Voted Out
He says: "My ex-girlfriend was on The Apprentice. We broke up after the show was filmed, before it aired. When the show aired, press stories ran alleging that she had cheated on me in the Apprentice house. I don’t know the truth in it but that was the story."
Tom Wilson - Replaced Joel Bennett
He says: "I would describe myself as very confident, big and impulsive. My friends would describe me as loud and the centre of attention."
