The Chase’s Paul Sinha has been beaten in a quiz. By a 12-year-old.
The 45-year-old Chaser, who stars on the hit ITV gameshow alongside Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace and Anne Hegerty, was challenged against child Giovanni Trevisan.
However, Giovanni is one of the smartest kids in the country and is currently vying for the title of Britain’s Child Genius 2015 in the Channel 4 show of the same name.
Both Sinha and Trevisan were given 45 seconds on the clock to answer questions while appearing on This Morning. Hit play above to see Paul in action!
Just some of the general knowledge that they were faced with included ‘What is The Queen’s official Scottish residence?’ and ‘Where is the driest place on earth?’.
Giovanni was subsequently declared the winner after getting more questions right than Paul in a battle reminiscent of the final chase.
Meanwhile, Sinha also spoke to presenters Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden about being a part of The Chase.
He said that he already knew his three fellow Chasers before he became a fourth opponent on the programme.
“There is a sort of netherworld of monthly quizzes across the country that me and Anne go to all the time,” he said, adding: “I play in a quiz team with Shaun every Tuesday in London. I play with Anne – so to speak – in the European pairs championships.
“We all know each other very well and that kind of helped me get on the show, because I was the fourth one to join the show and when ITV said they were looking for a fourth guy they [the other Chasers] kind of recommended me because they knew me already.”
Of his infamous white suit, Sinha quipped that it made him look like “some sort of Miami Vice cast-off”.
Speaking about the inspiration behind his outfit, Sinha explained: “About three weeks before the start of the series they said to me ‘We‘ve got an idea – because everyone else is in darker colours – we want you in Don Johnson chic looking like some sort of Miami Vice cast-off’.
“And my heart shattered into a million pieces going ‘Can you not make me look as stylish as Bradley?’ but that was not what they were looking for!”
