If you’re looking for some inspiration on where to enjoy your retirement, make sure you tune in to the latest series of The Real Marigold on Tour.
Once again, the elderly celebrities are heading abroad to see if pensioners have it better in other parts of the globe.
Here’s all you need to know about the new series.
When is The Real Marigold on Tour back on TV?
We’ll be catching up with the Real Marigold on Tour crew over four new episodes that begin on Wednesday, February 13 at 9pm.
This is the third series of The Real Marigold on Tour, in which each episode features a different country - it's not to be confused with the original series, The Real Marigold Hotel, which sees the celebrities stay in one location in India for the length of the series.
What is it about?
Inspired by 2011 film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which saw a group of adventurous retirees head to India for their twilight years, the BBC series road tests real-life options for pensioners.
In The Real Marigold Hotel, a group of pension-age celebrities travelled to India to try out a retirement very different from the one they might expect at home.
This sister series, The Real Marigold on Tour, is now on its third run and features a changing group of celebrities as they get a taster of various countries around the world each episode.
With new foods, activities, classes, and ways of life to try, tempers can fray as the set-in-their-ways celebrities try to adapt to a different environment as well as each other’s company.
Who is taking part this time?
There’s a slightly different dynamic this time, as although we’ve seen all of the elderly travellers before, they've been shuffled round so they haven't always crossed paths in previous 'Marigold Hotels'.
Episode one features Miriam Margolyes, Bobby George, Sheila Ferguson and Stanley Johnson.
It's all change for episode two, which features Wayne Sleep, Paul Nicholas, Sheila Ferguson and Jan Leeming.
Wayne is back again for episode three, joined by Rosemary Shrager, Stephanie Beacham and Syd Little.
For episode four, we’re in the company of Rosemary Shrager, Paul Nicholas, and Krankies stars Janette and Ian Tough.
Which countries will they visit?
The episode one crew are off to Russia, where they’ll be checking out the retirement scene in St Petersburg. They'll sample its healthcare, social events, and sports meets for the elderly.
Buenos Aires, Argentina is the destination in episode two. The celebrities will try out Tango dancing into the wee hours, take a Tango singing lesson, and experience a life drawing class.
Episode three focuses on Hanoi in Vietnam, while the final instalment sees the group travel to Mexico where they visit Guadalajara and Ajijic.
The Real Marigold on Tour returns to BBC One on Wednesday, February 13 at 9pm.
