What is the series about?
How do you go about proving your innocence when everyone around you believes that you brutally murdered the person you loved?
David has served seven years in prison for the murder of his wife Tara, and in the process has lost his entire life – family and friends have all turned their backs on him.
His children are in the custody of Tara’s sister Alice and her husband, and the new family unit is living off the proceeds of David’s estate which gives them a much more comfortable life than they were used to.
Alice is prepared to fight tooth and nail to keep David in prison as she firmly believes that he killed her sister, and DCI William Beech also has an interest in upholding David’s conviction as the detective that put him away in the first place.
But when David’s conviction is overturned on a technicality, he finds himself a free man but is faced with the mammoth tasks of rebuilding his life and proving his absolute innocence.
Why did his best friend Tom withdraw his alibi from the night of the murder? What will DI Cathy Hudson’s case review uncover? And if David didn’t murder Tara, who did?
