Fans of TV drama Our Girl have been left frustrated yet again after the BBC cancelled Friday night's planned showing of episode six due to tennis at Wimbledon.
The series, starring Michelle Keegan, was scheduled to air at 9pm this evening (July 13). However, due to the longest Wimbledon semi-final in history between Kevin Anderson and John Isner, the show was shelved as the BBC opted to move the second semi-final to BBC One.
That left Wimbledon presenter Clare Balding to announce that the sixth episode will now be shown at 9pm on Tuesday, July 17.
The series was a big loser in England’s World Cup success story, and has been consistently moved around to make room for the latest action from Gareth Southgate’s team.
Episode 6 of Our Girl has been particularly roughly treated, shifted around the schedules twice.
It was originally going to air on Tuesday, July 10th, but was then shifted to Wednesday, July 11th.
However, when England qualified for the World Cup semi-final, the BBC opted to move it again so viewers didn't have to choose between Kane and Keegan.
Friday evening’s schedule, which inclued EastEnders at 8pm, Still Open All Hours at 8.30pm, Our Girl at 9pm, was subsequently scrapped in favour of the late night action from SW19.
