The Walking Dead universe's third series has got an air date and a home in the UK.

The new series will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come of-age in the apocalypse as we know it.
Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.

Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple told New York Comic Con that these characters have “grown up in the apocalypse”.
"They're aware of walkers. They haven't interacted with them. They've been [living] beyond walls. That makes any journey they need to make incredibly dangerous. They are affected in different ways by what happened.
“They don't remember much of a world without walkers. This is the normal world for them, but they've been apart from it. They've been in safety. There's a quest aspect to this show. They're going somewhere. They have to leave this place of safety to put themselves in a position where they have to fight for their survival and what they believe in.
“It's a different kind of story in the world of The Walking Dead, and it introduces a new world."
Is there a trailer?
A short teaser for the new series has been released.
“TV audiences around the world have demonstrated their passion for The Walking Dead universe, and we are so excited to bring this next iteration to our Prime members,” said Brad Beale, Vice President of Worldwide Licensing for Amazon Prime Video.
“An exciting and heartfelt survival story that will have our viewers sitting on the edge of their seats, this next series from the world of The Walking Dead will make an excellent addition to the growing catalogue of global event series available to Amazon customers.”
Where is the new Walking Dead series set?
The series begins in the Midwest, but the characters adventure will take them far beyond their original location.
Will the show crossover with The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead?
When Fear the Walking Dead started, the different timelines and locations meant that many presumed the series couldn’t overlap. However, eventually Lennie James’ character Morgan jumped from The Walking Dead to Fear and the two series are now quite closely aligned.
Scott Gimple said that it was inevitable the new series would overlap with the first two series as well, teasing that the overarching ‘three circle’ mystery that has appeared in both shows with also be part of the new series.
“The place [these characters] come from is associated with one of those circles,” explained Gimple.
