Lennie James, one of The Walking Dead’s original and best loved stars, has been confirmed as the crossover character in the ‘World’s Collide’ storyline in Fear the Walking Dead.
It was confirmed on Talking Dead on Sunday night (November 26) that Morgan Jones is the character who will make the jump across the shows into Fear the Walking Dead’s upcoming fourth season.
In a statement from Walking Dead showrunner Scott M Gimple, Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick said: "Morgan's arc in The Walking Dead season eight positioned him for the story on Fear the Walking Dead.
“It was also important to see Fear's world and characters through new, yet familiar eyes."
Morgan was the first person Rick (Andrew Lincoln) encountered after waking up from his coma in the show’s pilot.
The character returned for one of The Walking Dead’s most acclaimed episodes, Clear, in season three, before joining the show full-time in season five
James will have his first day on the set of Fear the Walking Dead on Monday (November 27), which will be streamed on AMC’s social accounts.
The British actor appeared via satellite on Talking Dead, ahead of filming, which is starting in Austin, Texas.
Speaking about moving shows, James said: “From the very first moment the whole suggestion of Morgan going over to Fear the Walking dead, the hardest part of that, from beginning to now, has been leaving The Walking Dead.
"Leaving that cast, leaving that crew. I've said my goodbyes to the cast and I've said my goodbyes to the crew. … That show stands or falls on the back of that crew. And I'm going to miss them very much."
