Who is Luba Mushtuk?

Russian dancer Luba Mushtuk joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 as one of three new professional dancers, but only had a place in the group dances to begin with.

She has a strong history in competition – Luba is a four-time winner of the Italian Dance Championship and is a champion of the Italian Open Latin Show Dance.

Added to her long list of achievements are placing second in the European 10 Dance Championships, and reaching the final of the Latin European Championship.

She has also worked extensively with stage show Burn the Floor, which has featured Strictly pros Kevin Clifton, Karen Hauer, Pasha Kovalev, Artem Chingvintsev, Anya Garnis, Dancing with the Stars’ Derek Hough, and Graziano Di Prima.

Luba said of her new Strictly role: “Words cannot express how thrilled I am to do what I love most on the greatest show on earth! I am super excited and so thankful for this priceless opportunity. I can’t wait to get started as a professional dancer on Strictly... bring on the sparkle!”

Returning in 2019, Luba had proved herself enough to get a celebrity partner and was matched with James Cracknell.

Best-ever finish: Luba has only had one celebrity partner so far, so being voted out first with James Cracknell was her best result as well as her worst.

Worst-ever finish: The only way is up for Luba if she returns to Strictly in 2020, as she was voted out first with James in 2019.

Current celebrity partner: James Cracknell

Did you know? Luba may be knew to Strictly viewers, but she has a long-running close relationship with the show. She was part of the Strictly Live Tour, performed in Giovanni Pernice, Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer’s tours, and in 2016 joined Strictly Come Dancing as an assistant choreographer for group routines.
