Strictly Come Dancing fever is set to return in just a couple of months’ time, and we already know who the pros are going to be for 2018.
Amongst those heading to the dancefloor with a new load of celebrity amateurs are three new dancers – we find out more about one of them, Luba Mushtuk.
Who is Luba Mushtuk?
Russian dancer Luba Mushtuk is 28 years old and has joined Strictly Come Dancing 2018 as one of three new professional dancers.
She has a strong history in competition – Luba is a four-time winner of the Italian Dance Championship and is a champion of the Italian Open Latin Show Dance.
Added to her long list of achievements are placing second in the European 10 Dance Championships, and reaching the final of the Latin European Championship.
She has also worked extensively with stage show Burn the Floor, which has featured Strictly pros Kevin and Karen Clifton, Pasha Kovalev, Artem Chingvintsev, Anya Garnis, Dancing with the Stars’ Derek Hough, and her new colleague Graziano Di Prima.
Luba said of her new Strictly role: “Words cannot express how thrilled I am to do what I love most on the greatest show on earth! I am super excited and so thankful for this priceless opportunity. I can’t wait to get started as a professional dancer on Strictly... bring on the sparkle!”
Best-ever finish: Luba is yet to make her Strictly debut, but she has plenty of experience under her belt which puts her in a good position to score highly.
Worst-ever finish: Strictly fans know that it’s the luck of the draw when it comes to celebrity partners on the show, so Luba will be hoping to be matched with a good prospect for her first season.
Celebrity partner: The line-up for 2018 has not yet been revealed, but we’re expecting to see the launch show take place in early September.
Did you know? Luba may be knew to Strictly viewers, but she has a long-running close relationship with the show. She was part of the Strictly Live Tour, performed in Giovanni Pernice and Kevin and Karen Clifton’s tours, and in 2016 joined Strictly Come Dancing as an assistant choreographer for group routines.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One in September.
