Keeley Hawes is the go-to woman for edge-of-your seat TV drama series, with Bodyguard, The Missing, and Line of Duty all under her belt.
Now, she’s about to star in Channel 4’s exciting new period spy show, Traitors.
Here’s all you need to know about what happens, who her co-stars are, and when you can see it.
When is Traitors on TV?
Although we’re still waiting on an exact air date for the series, we do know that it will be coming to Channel 4 at some point in February 2019.
What is it about?
Written by Bash Doran, the creator of Boardwalk Empire and Masters of Sex, this exciting new drama looks set to be our must-watch for winter.
Feef Symonds is a bold, ambitious 20-something who joins the Civil Service in 1945 with high hopes of serving her country.
But change is afoot as the Labour Party has just swept to victory, unexpectedly defeating Winston Churchill in the General Election, and Feef’s family are not particularly enthusiastic about her career choice.
With an American boyfriend putting pressure on her to spy on her own government, impressionable Feef agrees to help the US secretly keep watch on whether England’s burgeoning Socialist ambitions will play into Soviet hands.
Feef must work out what she stands for, where her loyalties lie, and what she’s capable of in a time when knowledge is power and no one is quite who they seem to be.
Who stars in it?
Starring as Feef is Emma Appleton, who you may have seen before in TV series Clique and Genius.
Emma is joined by Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, The Missing, Line of Duty) playing Priscilla, a Civil Service boss who appears to be onto Feef’s double-dealing – but it’s unclear whether she is on the same track.
Michael Stuhlbarg (The Shape of Water, Boardwalk Empire, Fargo) plays Rowe, and Luke Treadaway (Fortitude, Ordeal by Innocence) is Hugh.
Brandon P Bell (Dear White People) plays Jackson, Stephen Campbell Moore (The Last Post, The Child in Time) plays Philip, and Matt Lauria (Kingdom, Parenthood) is Peter.
