It’s that time of year again – Strictly Come Dancing’s celebrity cast for the coming series is being announced.
Find out more about one of the Glitterball Trophy contenders, Catherine Tyldesley.
Revealed as a Strictly contestant: Catherine was the fifth celebrity we discovered would be taking part in Strictly this year, when she appeared on This Morning on August 1.
Best known for: Soap fans will be familiar with Catherine as the actress who played Coronation Street’s Eva Price for seven years.
She left the cobbles last year after a series of dramatic storylines including faking a pregnancy, hiding another pregnancy and giving up the baby to a neighbour, and losing the father of her child, Aidan, to suicide.
In the time since she left the soap, Catherine has filmed a number of other roles including the new comedy series Scarborough.
She’s sure to have plenty of former Corrie co-stars to rely on for Strictly advice.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. I’m a huge fan of the show. It’ll be my biggest challenge to date as I’m not much of a dancer, but I’ve always wanted to learn the skill and the time feels right!
“I’m nervous as hell but super excited to work with such talented professionals. Hold onto your jazz shoes... mine is sure to be a bumpy/clumsy/fun ride!”
Strictly partner: Johannes Radebe
Memorable moments: Catherine and Johannes' close friendship was one of the strongest out of this year's Strictly couples and made them popular with the viewers.
Their emotional week three Rumba brought head judge Shirley Ballas to tears and their Charleston to Beyonce's Single Ladies was a favourite with fans.
But sadly for Cath, she'll mainly be remembered for her untimely exit in Halloween week, when she was bizarrely voted out by Shirley in favour of Mike Bushell.
Eliminated: Catherine and Johannes were the shock elimination in week six's Halloween show when they were voted out in favour of Mike Bushell and Katya Jones. They finished in 11th place.

My husband @tompitfield7 took this picture when we had a good cry afterwards. Tears of joy and appreciation for each other. I love this man so much. WHAT a journey!! Thankyou all for your messages, your love and support. Thankyou Bbc for this opportunity. When I started my #Strictly journey my confidence was low. My belief in what I could achieve on the show was extremely low. The expectations on my humble body - beyond low. What @johannesradebe gave me was priceless Confidence ,Belief, Love- and Laughter beyond words! This man is a gift to the world. If there were more people like him the world would be spectacular (with shed loads of #Sas!) He taught me how to walk in high heels, he taught me how to ‘own it’... he taught me to love and appreciate what my body could achieve. I’m often low on body confidence- but I’m so proud of the limits that I’ve thoroughly pushed on this wonderful journey. I did it for me. I also did it for the hundreds of mums out there who felt they’d lost a little bit of themselves, the women out there who’d become negative about their body. The women who found it hard to look in the mirror and love what they saw. I’m proud of my body and my mind for getting me through this wonderful but incredibly tough experience. Push your limits ladies and be grateful for everything you’re wonderful body can achieve. ‘Dance like NOBODY is watching’
