Since he first glided onto our screens in series six of Dancing on Ice, Sylvain Longchambon has become one of the ITV show’s most recognisable skaters.
However, his time in the spotlight has not been without controversy, especially when it comes to his relationships with his celebrity skating partners.
Read on for all you need to know about the star of the reality TV contest.
How did Sylvain Longchambon end up in Dancing on Ice?
The French skater was a silver medallist in the ISU Junior Grand Prix, where his competitive ice-skating career began.
He also won bronze at the French Championships, but then called a halt to his competition days.
Sylvain joined Dancing on Ice in 2011 and has made a big impression on the show, becoming one of the most popular pro skaters with viewers.
What has he achieved on the show?
Sylvain made his debut in the sixth series of the ITV contest, where he was matched with Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe. However, the couple failed to impress and were the third pairing to be eliminated.
In series seven, Sylvain suffered some bad luck when he tore a tendon in his bicep while training with singer Heidi Range and was forced to withdraw from the competition.
But by series eight, Sylvain was fighting fit again and partnered Coronation Street’s Samia Ghadie, who would later become his wife. The couple just missed out on the final as they were eliminated eighth.
Sylvain also joined the All Stars series before the competition’s break, where he skated with Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter. The pair were booted out first.
In the comeback series, Sylvain has been matched with another Hollyoaks star – Stephanie Waring.
Who has Sylvain Longchambon had a Dancing on Ice romance with?
Ice lothario Sylvain has been part of some of the biggest romantic upsets in the show’s history.
After meeting Hollyoaks’ Jennifer Metcalfe on the show, they started a two-year relationship which came to a dramatic end when he fell for another of his skating partners, Samia Ghadie.
Jennifer told how she had been cruelly dumped over the phone on Christmas Day as Sylvain admitted to having feelings for newly-single Samia.
“It's like death. I felt gutted. It was the worst Christmas ever,” she told The Sun on Sunday.
Sylvain and Samia eventually married in 2016, a year after the birth of their son Yves, but the messy situation that lead to their relationship had not been forgotten.
When Sylvain was paired with Jennifer’s co-star and friend Jorgie for the All Stars series, she could not resist taking a swipe at his behaviour.
A training video showed her saying of her partner “Does that mean I’m going to be his girlfriend?” and “If he doesn’t try it on with me, I’ll be really angry”.
It prompted Samia to tweet: “Jorgie needn’t worry, Sylvain doesn’t go for burgers”, which kicked off a row between cast members of both soaps as well as former contestant Kerry Katona.
Dancing on Ice continues on Sundays on ITV.
