It’s that time of year again – Strictly Come Dancing’s celebrity cast for the coming series is being announced.
Find out more about one of the Glitterball Trophy contenders, Viscountess Emma Weymouth.
Revealed as a Strictly contestant: Emma was contestant number eight to be announced for Strictly 2019, on Gaby Roslin’s BBC Radio London show on August 4.
Best known for: Emma became Viscountess Weymouth when she married Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth and together they live on Wiltshire’s Longleat Estate.
Emma shares her love of cooking in the estate’s original kitchens with Emma’s Kitchen at Longleat, is a regular guest on James Martin’s Saturday Morning, and a contributing editor to British Vogue.
She also does conservation work with Longleat, particularly with a project to save the northern white rhino.
She said: “I absolutely love watching Strictly every weekend and I can’t believe that I’m getting the chance to be on this series.
“I know it will be such an amazing experience from start to finish. I can’t wait for the dancing and the fabulous outfits!”
Strictly partner: Aljaz Skorjanec
Memorable moments: Emma made huge improvements during her seven weeks in Strictly, particularly impressing everyone but Craig Revel Horwood with her Charleston in Halloween week.
However, she hit headlines for the wrong reasons when it emerged that one of the Longleat staff had offered to pay the phone bill of anyone working there and their families who wanted to vote for Emma to stay in.
She knew nothing about it and the member of staff hadn't realised he was doing anything wrong, but it was hugely embarrassing for Lady Emma.
Placed: Lady Emma and Aljaz left the competition in week 7, where they placed ninth and were knocked out by Mike Bushell and Katya Jones.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on September 7.
